Shelter Appeal
Imagine living in makeshift tents that can barely hold the winds, that fail to protect you from the cold nights, and that is prone to be torn in extreme weather, especially in thunderstorms. A safe shelter is every human’s right, whether or not they can afford it. The same goes for Syrian & Palestinian refugees and impoverished families without a roof to protect them.
Everyone Deserves A Safe Shelter
More than 6.8 million Syrian refugees have taken refuge in neighbouring countries such as Jordan and Lebanon. In contrast, the number of Palestinian refugees is around 5.6 million people.
Over 92% of refugees who have fled to these neighbouring countries live in rural regions, with only roughly 5% residing in refugee camps. Where they constantly face the challenges of living in inadequate housing.
Moreover, IDPs of impoverished communities face the same challenges. From rains, thunderstorms, and winter to other climate challenges, their tents barely last, which they have to repair as they cannot afford new shelters.
All they hope for is to live with dignity, to battle the challenges of living in displacement and poverty, and for that, they need your help.
What Needs To Be Done
The only hope keeping them alive is the generosity of their brothers and sisters such as yourself and the resources of our projects aimed to help them in their time of need.
With your donations, Scot Aid aims to send humanitarian aid to Syrian & Palestinian refugees living in miserable conditions. They need adequate shelters and proper tents to survive, and our collective efforts can play a significant part in that.
