Ever since the conflict escalated in March 2015, Yemen has been subject to a humanitarian crisis. As a result of the conflict, the country’s economy is in shambles, increasing poverty levels and unemployment. Leaving over 23.7 million people in Yemen in dire need of aid, including over 13 million children.

How Is The Crisis Affecting Yemen

More than 4 million people are internally displaced, forced to settle in dry regions where clean water accessibility is scarce. They are forced to walk miles in search of their daily water, whether or not the climate conditions allow them to.

Due to water scarcity, agricultural practices have also been reduced, resulting in food insecurity and a lack of livelihood activities. Around 17.4 million people are in need of food assistance, from which, 2.2 million children are acutely malnourished.

The crisis has also affected the education system of Yemen, leaving more than 2 million children out of school.

What Needs To Be Done

Scot Aid aims to send humanitarian aid to vulnerable families and children in Yemen. While it might take time, your generous donations and our resources can enable them to live a life of dignity and respect. Our collective efforts can help provide food, water, education, and adequate shelter to displaced families and help them survive.

Scot Aid’s healthcare programmes serve the most vulnerable communities worldwide to save them from emergencies and provide essential medical supplies. Scot Aid provides the most vulnerable people with healthcare supplies in times of need and helps build hospitals to accommodate affectees. We also distribute medical equipment to ensure that people have everything they need to save their health.

Emergency Response

Emergencies come without warning but responding to the urgent needs of affectees is crucial to saving lives. Scot Aid delivers vital aid to communities stuck in disasters who need urgent help to survive.

Shelter

Scot Aid aims to send humanitarian aid to Syrian & Palestinian refugees living in miserable conditions. They need adequate shelters and proper tents to survive, and our collective efforts can play a significant part in that.
